How great is it that as we speak, I am sitting on an Amtrak train blogging. Technology is amazing here with my WIFI card and laptop, looking around at all the various people and the stories they carry. My trip which started Tuesday at 4am began with an Amtrak entroute to New York City.
Enough with the prelude though. What this trip and train ride really brought to mind was all the historical jewelry happenings in New York City. One of the most famous of course being Tiffany & Co, founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany.
The emporium was initially named Tiffany, Young and Ellis, and it wasn’t until 1853 that the name was shortened to Tiffany & Co, then run solely by Charles. The emphasis was changed from fine goods to primarily jewelry sales, and I am sure happy that it was!
