Egyptian Amulet, 254 BC

It is easy to think that the jewelry we deal in is old and worth regard… that is when our collection isn’t compared to heirloom above. The amulet is a ram-headed falcon crafted with gold, lapis, turquoise and carnelian. The piece is from Ancient Egypt and dates to 254 BC, the 26th year of the reign of Ramses II. It was found in the tomb of an Apis bull in the Serapaeum of Memphis at Saqqara. The heirloom currently resides at the Louvre in Paris, France.
