  • How much is ring sizing?
  • Free! We offer our customers free sizing (within 2 sizes) on all ring purchases. Some rings may not be able to be sized extensively, and some additional charges may apply to rings taken up or down over 2 sizes. If you will like to have your ring sized, please send e-mail within 24 hours of purchase. Sizing takes 1 - 2 weeks.
  • What do you charge for shipping?
  • We ship within the US for a flat rate of $6.75 on most items, and $3 for each additional item. All items over $200 will include free shipping insurance, and will be shipped out via USPS Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation unless specified otherwise.
  • Are your diamonds certified by GIA or AGS?
  • No. Antique jewelry is a little different in that GIA and AGS only grade loose diamonds before they are set. To get this done, we would have to take the stones out of the ring, send them off, and then reset them. This is tricky and risky work, so most all antique jewelry dealers won't have a cert on the main stone, unless the stone had been replaced because the original stone had been taken. We do offer appraisals that evaluate stones based on their presence within a setting.
  • How do I get an appraisal?
  • We offer a free appraisal upon request on any purchase over $1,500. The appraisal is a written document briefly evaluating the specs and replacement value of a given piece of jewelry. These appraisals are independant appraisals to help you insure your heirlooms and should not be used to resell your articles. Appraisals on any other piece can be obtained for a fee of $15.
  • How come you don't have other periods in your store, i.e. Georgian, Edwardian?
  • We have added catagories that are most commonly seen and used in the antique jewelry field in order to simplify searching. Jewelry that fits into a period we don't have listed also likely also fits into a catagory we do have listed, since many periods blend from one to another. As our website expands, we will add more catagories to suit our collection.
  • Are any of your items reproductions?
  • If we have any type of reproduction, we will list it as such and put it into our modern section. We do not actively go out and buy reproductions that are on the market. We may come across reproductions that are second hand that we will purchase because the quality is present. We will never list a reproduction as an antique if it is not.
  • How can you tell how old a ring is?
  • We date our items based on the style, quality, wear, manufacture, etc. We have a lot of experience in this area and are able to circa date most pieces within 10-15 years of their actual make, which is pretty good considering many of our pieces are well over 100 years old. Some pieces are harder to date than others and may span over many different periods, so circa is our method of choice.
